Faith Fusion Retreat

From the February 29, to March 3, 2008 the Diocesan Youth Centre organised the Faith Fusion Retreat for Youth. “Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me.” These seven simple words that make up the JESUS PRAYER but when said with trust and faith in God not only gives meaning to the words but also to life itself.

Sometimes in this world of fast cars, fast living, studies, career, work pressure the only thing Christian about us youth remains that obligatory Sunday Mass sitting on those last few pews with our minds somewhere other than where it should be. I was someone like this. Moving fast in this fast paced world. totally unconnected with God and His Word. Life would have gone on if it wasn’t for my decision to take a break from normal life and spending some time with God through the Faith Fusion Retreat.. This was one of the most powerful and enriching encounters with Jesus. The whole experience was touching, a revelation and a complete God experience.

Fr Gerrad Rodrigues with his witty and pleasant way of getting the message across touched my heart with his examples of the Power of the Word of God - The Bible and how following it makes your life not only more meaningful but more peaceful and fulfilling. Fr Jeevan with his teachings on Prayer taught us how to attain a close relationship with God and submitting ourselves to the will of God. My friends, the most powerful message I have got out of this Retreat is that Jesus loves us and if we put our faith and lives in his hands, he will take care of it. You have to just let yourself work the will of the Lord. Such an experience will transform your life and help you to lead a good peaceful Christian Life connected with the Word of God.
