Personalising the power of Mary's grace can lead us to spiritual and physical well-being.

The month of May, dedicated to Our Lady, is a special month for those who love her deeply. It is a month that helps us renew our love for her, not only by praying the Rosary with faith and all devotion, but also increase the number of rosaries we pray every day! Just imagine St Padre Pio, according to one account, praying a minimum of 35 rosaries a day!

Praying the Rosary with love for our heavenly Mother brings all the fruits that she has promised us. Praying the Hail Marys and Holy Marys by personalising her grace in our lives can lead to powerful spiritual and physical enrichment.

The Rosary - a Powerhouse of Grace and Protection

For those who love Mother Mary, the Rosary with its Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful and Glorious Mysteries, the I Believe, Our Father, Hail Mary, Holy Mary, Glory Be, etc. becomes a powerhouse of grace. On the other hand, a blessed rosary with its cross and beads becomes a weapon of protection for everyone who wears it lovingly around the neck or carries it on their person.

It is an age-old tradition among Catholic families to pray the Angelus with the Rosary in the evenings, a practice which is sadly on the decline today. While the Rosary formed the foundation of family spirituality, today, very few families find the necessary time to continue this precious spiritual tradition.

The consoling factor is that devotees of Mother Mary make efforts to gather in communities in front of crosses, especially during the months of May and October, to pray the Rosary. Another encouraging happening is that lovers of Mary gather in churches to pray the Rosary before the Eucharist, and offer their love and veneration to her. This is a practice which all parishes should encourage among their parishioners. And so, the month of May is meant to remind us individually, as families and communities, that the Rosary as a devotion to Our Lady needs to be continued with all fervour.
