Goa has a Cable TV Channel - CCR TV – which is Catholic in content. The channel was inaugurated by Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao at the Feast Mass of St Francis Xavier at Old Goa on December 4, 2017.

The channel was started in response to a need for programmes in Konkani and English, and specifically relevant to the Konkani-speaking Catholic community in Goa, and through a related YouTube channel – to these all over the world.

Started by the initiative of dedicated Catholic laypersons who established a non-profit organisation called CCR GOA MEDIA, this cable channel is intended to proclaim the Good News as mandated by our Christian faith and the Church.

The studio at Institute Piedade in Panaji is fully functional, and the channel is live with live streaming of the TV Channel and on YouTube (CCR TV).

Programmes include the Eucharist, Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet etc. There are also programmes on parishes, Apologetics, Gospel and liturgical music, Scripture study and Catholic institutions in Goa. Cultural and social issues are also covered, such as exercises for senior citizens, medical issues, learning Konkani, cuisine, career guidance and programmes for youth and kids.

During the inauguration, the Archbishop spoke encouragingly of this initiative, and urged the congregation to support this effort of evangelisation in whatever way they could. Three other Bishops were also present - Bishop Gerald Lobo of Udipi, Bishop Alex Dias of Port Blair and Bishop Allwyn Baretto of Sindhudurg.
