Bikers' Pilgrimage to Daman

On March 17, 2019, a Bikers' Pilgrimage to Daman was organised for the parishioners of IC Church, Borivli. The aim of the Bikers' Pilgrimage was to connect to the bikers and experience spirituality. The bikers and pillion riders assembled in the quadrangle at 4:45 am, and parked their bikes according to the numbers assigned to them. As all good things begin with prayer, Fr Alban led a beautiful prayer. Within a few minutes, all the bikers left; they were expected to ride in formation throughout the entire pilgrimage.

The first stop for breakfast was at the famous Hotel Ahura. Everyone had a scrumptious breakfast, and left for Our Lady of the Sea Church, Nani Daman. This beautiful, quaint church is nested within the remains of the old fort which form its compound wall. The office-bearers of IC Parish Youth Council led the group in Prayer, praying the first four Stations of the Cross, which was specially curated for the bikers on this occasion.

Shadow Way of the Cross

The Church has always kept alive the memory of the words and the events of the last days of our Lord, a loving though painful memory of the path Jesus walked from the Mount of Olives to the Mount of Calvary. On March 29, 2019, this memory was depicted by the Parish Youth Council (PYC) of St Anthony's Church, Vakola through a unique Shadow Way of the Cross. It followed the path of Christ, from Pontius Pilate to Christ's tomb, in relation to our modern daily struggles and pain of the people around. Accompanied by the melodious choir who uplifted our spirits with the soul touching hymns like 'Calvary', 'Via Dolorosa', this Shadow Way of the Cross was a faith enriching and nourishing experience for parishioners.
